1.5 Computer Software?

Computer software (often called just software) is made of one or more computer programs. Sometimes it means one specific program, or it can mean all the software on a computer, including the applications and the operating system.

What is an operating system?

The software that supports a computer’s basic functions, such as scheduling tasks, executing applications, and controlling peripherals. Examples include: UNIX, Microsoft Windows Server 2012, Linux etc.
